The watch is the newest member of Van Cleef & Arpels’ Poetic Complications Collection. It is a passion-filled red-hot version of the brilliant blue Féerie that made its debut in 2008. It wears its heart on it face, with an extraordinary ruby-red enamel-on-guilloche dial, framed by a ring of diamonds. It is a new, elegant interpretation of the Féerie story. A white gold fairy indicates the passing hours with her magic wand, while she traces the minutes with her fluttering wings.

The Maison’s creativity is fueled by the historic sources of inspiration dear to its heart; from the graceful femininity of Fairies and Ballerinas, to the founding theme of Love stories, the whimsical grace of Enchanting Nature and the mysteries of Poetic Astronomy.

The Féerie Rouge, like the original blue Féerie, displays time with retrograde hour and minute hands, meaning that rather than travel in a circle, the hands jump back to the beginning of their arc when they have reached the 12 and 60 marks, respectively.

 

The Swiss mechanical movement is based on a Jaeger-LeCoultre 846 movement with a retrograde module developed exclusively for Van Cleef & Arpels. The hands and the wings trace an arc before returning instantly to their initial position in order to begin another journey. This constant dance enables the creation to be original and highly spectacular, requiring high-precision design and craftsmanship.

The Féerie Rouge Watch features a 38 mm white gold case; white gold bezel with round diamonds; guilloché red enamel dial with white gold and diamond hour markers. Sculpted white gold fairy with round and pear-shaped diamonds. White gold crown with a round diamond. The satin strap is fastened with a white gold pin buckle with round diamonds. All diamonds are DEF, IF to VVS diamonds.

The watch’s red guillochage face is full of wonder and light. The art of “guillochage” is one of the traditional crafts of watchmaking. Dating from the 16th century, it consists in engraving a gold dial with a pattern of intersecting lines to provide vitality and depth. After engraving, the dial is coated with Grand Feu enamel to create subtle plays of light. Guillochage is a regular feature in Van Cleef & Arpels fanciful watches.

With Poetic Astronomy™, Van Cleef & Arpels pays homage to the dazzling spectacle of the heavens and stars. These watches combine the marvels of the universe with the measurement of time.

The Lady Arpels Zodiac Virgo Watch features an engraved white gold dial, translucent enamel, sculpted and engraved white mother-of-pearl leaves, sculpted white gold Virgin Mary, round diamonds, rose-cut diamond, sculpted white gold stars, round diamonds. White gold crown with a round diamond.

Its glossy dark green alligator strap sports a white gold pin buckle with round diamonds.

 

The Lady Arpels Zodiac Pisces Watch features an engraved white gold dial, translucent enamel, sculpted and engraved white mother-of-pearl waves, white gold Pisces, round diamonds, enamel Pisces eyes, sculpted yellow gold stars, round yellow diamonds. White gold crown with a round diamond.

Its glossy navy alligator strap is secured with a white gold pin buckle with round diamonds.

 

 

The Extraordinary Dials Collection, Charms Extraordinaire Vendôme Watch features a 38 mm case, pink gold, pink gold bezel, round diamonds, pink gold rotating charm, round diamonds, white gold dial, sky miniature painting on mother-of-pearl, mother-of-pearl marquetry clouds, sculpted white gold column, sculpted and miniature-painted white gold buildings, sculpted white gold staircase and path, spessartite garnets, pale to dark yellow sapphires and round diamonds, sculpted white gold shrubs, pale to dark mauve and blue sapphires, sculpted and miniature-painted white gold bench and lovers.

It comes with 2 interchangeable straps: glossy purple alligator strap and pink gold buckle set with round diamonds, glossy black alligator strap with pink gold buckle.

 

The Extraordinary Dials Collection, Charms Extraordinaire Désir Watch features a white gold bezel, gradation of pink and purple sapphires, round diamonds. A clever white gold lilac-shaped rotating charm dazzles with purple sapphires and yellow sapphire.

The dial is stunning, with tinted mother-of-pearl background, miniature-painted leaves, miniature-painted lilacs on mother-of-pearl, miniature painting on sculpted mother-of-pearl, pink sapphires and amethysts, background miniature-painted crocus on sculpted mother-of-pearl, foreground crocus in white gold with yellow gold pistils, cabochonné enamel.

It comes with 2 interchangeable glossy pink or purple alligator straps.
