RED RASPBERRIES PUT US IN THE PINK NOW
Red raspberries can help keep us in the pink! According to a flurry of new research, red raspberries can help our bodies to fend off disease and the effects of aging.
Recently, Advances in Nutrition published a comprehensive review of red raspberry research, looking at the fruit’s impacts in helping to reduce the risk of metabolically-based chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes mellitus, obesity, and Alzheimer's disease.
Red raspberries are high in antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, vitamin C and fiber. They are provide both a source of ellagitannins and anthocyanins, a rare combo of phytochemicals which, in addition to warding off illness, affect human metabolism.
As long as we’ve now convinced you to eat more raspberries, might as well get even more pleasure, and health benefits, by bringing them together with one of their best mates, dark chocolate. This “Raspberry Chocolate Tart,” by Aaisha Shaikh, of Baking Part Time, is a classic, beautiful rendition. Get the recipe here.
