FANTASY CTHULHU PIES
When you fantasize about pie, does it look like this?
A pie meme has sprung up over this past year, resulting in pies, festooned with Cthulhu, a cosmic being created by author H.P. Lovecraft, first appearing in ‘Weird Tales’ in 1928.
California-based artist Sandy Yoo created a formidable version of the cosmic pie that was a truly beautiful sculpture. We would have loved to have touched, smelled and tasted it. Watch this video to see how she makes it.
Or check out this step-by-step photo-by-photo instruction in My Invisible Camera blog’s post. It’s not hard. Go for it. You can eat it when you’re done!
Fantasy author, Joanna Fay, had her writer’s group over for tea at her home in Perth Australia a several months ago and served up her tentacled tart, bubbling over as if Cthulhu splashed against a blackberry sea.
Ian McPherson, an award winning writer and graphic artist, also based Down Under, to it to another level by painting the pie that illustrated the book -- art out of art out of art. McPherson is also one of the most accomplished Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop users in Australia.
