Photo District News (PDN), the award-winning monthly magazine for the professional photographer, has been covering the professional photographic industry for over two decades.
PDN Adrenaline celebrates the photographers capturing the intensity and dedication of athletes and adventurers. We are sharing the breathtaking winning photos of the 2018 PDN Adrenaline: Sports + Action Photography Contest.
Grand-prize winners Marcus Eriksson and Enrique Lopez-Tapia lead the stellar pack with two powerful images of athletes in vastly different cultures, one an MMA fighter, the other, a traditional Sumatran cattle driver. Other winning photos include dramatic images of trail runners, a rock climber, ice hockey players, a mountain biker, speed bikers, basketball players, a surfer, and a gymnast.
2018 Contest judges included Krystal Atwater (National Football League), Blake Danforth (Fox Sports), Mike Leister (Backpacker Magazine), and Brent Lewis (ESPN).
