YSABEL LEMAY

Animals become flowers. Flowers become heaven. Worlds become more beautiful in the magical transitions within Ysabel LeMay’s artworks.

LeMay believes that art has the power to transform. She’s created Wonderful Other Worlds, a series of works that invite us to dream.

The wilderness of northern Quebec, home to LeMay’s family cottage, gave LeMay her first tastes of natural beauty in transition.

To create her pieces, LeMay developed a process she calls “Photo-Fusion,” in which she takes hundreds of individual photographs—of birds, bees, flowers, trees, and animals -- and knits them together into a single surreal composition.

She excels in a high-tech hyper collage coupled with an organic creative flow, as she builds up the imagery bit by bit. 

LeMay’s work has been featured in dozens of international exhibitions and is held in notable corporate collections. 

Ysabel LeMay has made powerful transitions in her own life. She began her career as a commercial graphic designer. Then, she studied painting. Then, she found photography.b And then she took it all so much further.
