WEARABLE LACE ARCHITECTURE, INCREDIBLE LACE JEWELRY
JENNY WU
As spring lightens our mood, with warm breezes carrying us along towards summer heat, we’re thinking more about the beautiful properties of lace. We love its airiness, its peek-a-boo nature, and the way it plays with and shapes space.
Architect Jenny Wu has long been obsessed with the qualities of lace, as we’ve seen in the iconic designs produced by Oyler Wu Collaborative, the award-winning architecture firm that she co-founded with Dwayne Oyler in 2004.
Now, extending her design sensibilities to jewelry, Wu has created a new line of 3D-printed wearables. Wu’s new LACE jewelry collection is stunning.
Marrying the latest rapid-prototyping, CNC milling, and 3D printing technologies with a contemporary interpretation of lace design, Wu’s jewelry utilizes the line-based geometries prevalent in her architecture.
LACE is architecture you can wear. The intricate jewelry is fashioned from precious metals and composite materials.
Each design weaves together intricate combinations of lines to create unique 3D pieces that can grace your neck, wrists, fingers and earlobes.
The pieces lend an avant-garde look that complements both classic and modern style.
LACE necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings are all statement pieces, with both bold and subtle effect.
The interlocking forms are also inspired by nature, with some reminiscent of teardrops, insects, and fossils.
Wu is currently a member of the design faculty at Sci-Arc (Southern California Institute of Architecture).
Celebrities like Jessica Alba, Carrie Underwood, and Christina Aguilera have all worn Wu’s LACE jewelry. You too can purchase LACE pieces in Wu’s LACE Shop.
