BEAUTIFUL LACE IN PAPERCUT ARTWORKS
PARTH KOTHEKAR
Hundreds of paper cuts and oodles of patience turn a single sheet of paper into a work of art. Indian artist Parth Kothekar creates intricate lacey images and patterns that take our breath away.
Kothekar is based in the city of Ahmedabad, where he began as a graffiti artist. He perfected the art of cutting graffiti stencils. You can see his graffiti all over town.
But it was the cutting that intrigued Kothekar the most. He was inspired to devote himself completely to the art of paper cutting.
Butterflies, dragonflies, bicycles, feathers, dancing figures emerge from the cuts as Kothekar works.
Each piece begins as a pencil drawing. Then the delicate knifework begins. Vision is executed with extreme attention to detail and a steady hand.
Check out more of Kothekar’s works below and on his Facebook. You can purchase his artworks on Etsy and at his unique art store called PaperCut by Parth.
