10 INCREDIBLE BEAUTIFUL BLACK SHOE DESIGNS NOW
If you love Beautiful Black and you love beautiful shoes, you came to the right place today! We’ve got 10 outrageous, wild, gorgeous, amazing black beauties for you. While you might not be brave enough to wear them all, they are objects d’art in their own right.
1. FRANCIS BITONTI -- MUTATIO
New York designer Francis Bitonti has created a range of shoes for Dutch footwear brand United Nude, with different 3D printed heels shaped using algorithms.
Traditional leather uppers top latticed platform heels, made of 3D-printed gold-plated nylon.
2. REM KOOLHAAS -- CORAL SHOE
The United Nude Coral Shoe, designed by Rem Koolhaas, is printed on the 3D Systems CubePro®, a professional desktop 3D printer. Inspired by sea corals, the 3D printed wedge heel and platform sole has sculptural holes through its side.
The shoe also has a small 3D printed buckle and a textile ribbon to attach to the foot. The Coral shoe was specially designed for Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience at Level Shoe District.
3. BEN VAN BERKEL -- UNX2
UNx2, designed by Ben van Berkel, transforms the foot into a beautiful black optical illusion.
"We were particularly interested in the kinds of images the shoe could create, both when static and when in motion,” explains van Berkel.
The vertical ribbons and the hoof-like shape of the shoe make legs look longer and colt-like. We see them with black opaque tights -- perhaps to channel a childhood favorite horse, Black Beauty!
4. ZAHA HADID -- FLAMES SHOE
Architect Zaha Hadid used her penchant for strong flowing forms to create the Flames Shoe for the Reinvent the Shoe series. It is at once, delicate and forceful, mimicking the flickering light of a flame, yet interpreting it in Beautiful Black.
While they may look a bit painful to wear, Hadid worked her magic with an ergonomically optimized foot bed, for super comfort and support.
5. ZAHA HADID & REM KOOLHAAS -- NOVA
Architects Zaha Hadid and Rem Koolhaas collaborated in the NOVA design for United Nude. It combines innovative materials and ergonomics, featuring Hadid’s signature sense of movement.
The upper of the shoe combines metallic chromed vinyl rubber, lined with Italian kid leather.
The hidden platform and heel are made of fiberglass, with a rubber sole. While it comes in an array of cool colors, we, of course, fell in love with the Beautiful Black pair.
6. BRIAN OKNYANSKY -- CANTI HEELS
The Heavy Metal Series, designed by Brian Okyansky, for the Berlin-based Haute Couture label Kimberit, takes another approach to 3D printed shoes.
Canti Heels were created using a subtractive, sculptural machine process. The design was generated using computer-modelling software in a process that resembles the construction of buildings, boats, and airplanes. We love the cantilevered heel and the double-curved surfaces.
7. BRIAN OKNYANSKY -- SPINNERET HEELS
Spinneret Heels were created using similar subtractive processes. They were prototyped from a solid cube of automotive-grade aluminium by a UK-based luxury concept automobile manufacturer. The digitally designed shoes were then formed by a robotic drill bit, which sculpted them into their sinuous curvy forms.
8. ALEXANDER MCQUEEN -- PATENT LEATHER POPELIN BOOTIES
Sexy, Beautiful, Black, and Shiny, these patent leather popelin booties from Alexander McQueen, feature a peep toe, a high stiletto heel, pleated top trim, and plush velvet laces to tie up a perfect package.
9. AZZEDINE ALAÏA -- BLACK SUEDE ANKLE BOOTS
While many of the Beautiful Black shoes featured in this post are pure fantasy for us, these Black Suede Ankle Boots, by Azzedine Alaïa, have triggered a craving. We need to wear these now!
10. BLACK SALMON LEATHER LOW TOPS
These Black/Salmon Leather Low Top Shoes, by designer Guillaume Philibert, of Filling Pieces, bridges the gap between “haute couture and street couture.” They are sporty and chic, with their supple leather uppers and woven “salmon skin” design.
When it’s time to step down from those towering heels, these call to us, and we answer, happily.
