WILD EYES IN PORTRAIT: MOGENS TROLLE

MOGENS TROLLE
The intensity of Mogens Trolle’s wild portraits transfixes us, not just with their incredible beauty, but with their deep soul.
The Danish wildlife photographer uses his training as a zoologist and wildlife biologist to gain a perspective on animal persona that sets his images apart.
Trolle specializes in mammals. He’s published five wildlife books, including “Wildlife of Africa - Safari Guide,” “Wildlife of Greenland,” and “Wildlife of Galapagos” (all in Danish).
The portraits come from animals living on all 7 continents. Trolle lived in South America for 5 years, including 2 ½ years in the Pantanal and 1 year in the Amazon jungle, as he surveyed mammal populations there.
Trolle was one of the pioneers of camera trapping for scientific purposes, studying ocelot, tapir, and maned wolf populations. He’s also discovered new species of deer in Amazonian Peru.
If you are inspired, take a photo tour with Trolle. He leads trips to Madagascar and other parts of Africa, Galapagos and other parts of South America, Australia, Finland and Norway.
