10 MOST BEAUTIFUL POOLSIDE COCKTAILS NOW
The BeautifulNow Team whipped up 10 beautiful new poolside cocktails. Some are fruity, some, floral, some frozen, each with a cool twist and a magnificent finish.
With seasonal ingredients, new ideas, & new twists on old favorites, including frozen drinks, like Frosé & Frozen Sunshine, they will chill you and thrill you! Includes recipes. See below.
1. GIN BRACER WITH CAPE GOOSEBERRY, STRAWBERRY & BASIL
Bracing, like a plunge pool, with hints of tart gooseberry, strawberry and basil, this cocktail goes with just about any poolside snack.
Ingredients:
- Gin
- Strawberries, sliced
- Cape gooseberries, pierced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Ice
- Sparkling water
Instructions:
For each cocktail, fill a rocks glass with ice and a few strawberry slices and a bruised basil leaf. Fill ½ way with gin. Top with a cape gooseberry, a few more strawberry slices, and basil leaf. Top with sparkling water, if desired.
2. GIN CUCUMBER BEGONIA FIZZ WITH LIME & ELDERFLOWER
This is a crisp cool gin refresher, with familiar notes of cucumber playing with delicate begonia and elderflower blossoms. This pool party quaff is great for garden parties too!
Ingredients:
- Gin
- Cucumber, thinly sliced
- Lime, thinly sliced
- Elderflower presse
- Fresh begonia flowers
- Ice cubes
Instructions:

For each cocktail, fill tall glass with ice cubes, a few slices each of cucumber and lime, a few begonia flowers.

Fill each glass ¼ way with gin. Fill ¼ way cucumber puree. Fill ¼ way with elderflower presse. Fill ¼ way with sparkling water.

Top each glass with a few begonia flowers, cucumber, and lime slices.
3. GOLDEN SUNRISE WITH RUM, BANANA, MANGO & TURMERIC
What a way to wake up! This is a perfect Sunday brunch by the pool cocktail. Sweet, fruity and creamy, it’s with loaded with the antioxidant power of fresh turmeric and a kick of golden rum.
Ingredients:
- 1 banana
- 1 cup frozen mango
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- ¾ cup plain buttermilk
- ¼ cup amber rum
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated turmeric root
- Ice cubes
Instructions:

Add all ingredients into the blender and pulse until smooth.

Pour over ice.

Top with fresh mango and turmeric root chunks.
Serves 1.
4. FROZEN SUNSHINE VODKA WITH THYME (OR BASIL)
Like a frozen slushie version of the sun itself, this Frozen Sunshine Vodka with Thyme cocktail is a beautiful poolside quaff on a hot summer day. Brimming with citrus and pineapple and bubbles to boot, this is a new pool party favorite.
Ingredients:
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- Juice of 1 fresh lemon
- Juice of 1 fresh orange
- 3 cups fresh pineapple juice
- 1 cups fresh grapefruit juice
- 2 cups Limonata, plus extra for topping drinks
- 2 1/2 cups vodka
Instructions:

Make a simple syrup by bringing the water to a boil in a medium-size saucepan and stirring in the sugar until it's completely dissolved.

Pour the simple syrup into a large container and leave to cool to room temperature. When cooled, stir in the rest of the ingredients.

Freeze the contents of the container for at least 24 hours. When ready to serve, scoop desired amount into each glass. Top with top with additional Limonata.
Serves 8.
5. HALF A MILE CLOSER TO THE MOON CHERRY BOURBON BOMBS
The best cherry orchards grow above 1,800 feet elevations. Check out these Half Mile Closer to the Moon Cherries, 4th generation cherry grower Kyle Mathison's unique Amigos Orchards, located between 2,800 and 3,200 feet above sea level — literally a half mile closer to the moon!
Ingredients:
- 16 Half Mile Closer to the Moon Cherries, pitted, stemmed, pureed
- 8 Half Mile Closer to the Moon Cherries, left whole, with stems
- 2 cups Bourbon
- Cherry ice cubes (add a pitted cherry to each compartment of an ice cube tray)
Instructions:

For each cocktail, add cherry puree to a rocks glass. Fill with cherry ice cubes. Pour in ¼ cup bourbon.

Garnish with whole cherry.
Serves 8.
6. BLUEBERRY BELLINIS
Blue Bellinis by the blue pool under a blue sky…. Summer heaven!
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces blueberry puree
- 4 ounces Prosecco
- Lemon slice
Instructions:
For each cocktail, add blueberry puree to a champagne flute. Top with Prosecco. Garnish with a few blueberries and lemon slice.
7. GORGEOUS GRAPE ORANGE & MEYER LEMON SANGRIA
This is a fairly traditional sangria recipe, but for the Campari. We got a bit specific on citrus varieties too...
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle red wine
- 4 oz. Campari
- 6 oz. simple syrup
- 1 lb. seedless red grapes, cut in half
- 2 Cara Cara oranges, thinly sliced with rind on
- 2 Meyer lemons, thinly sliced with rind on
Instructions:

Mix all ingredients and pop in the freezer for at least 4 hours. Pour into glasses. Garnish with grapes and citrus slices.

Enjoy the slush.
Serves 8.
8. STRAWBERRY APRICOT LAVENDER RUM PUNCH
Bright, tart, yet mellow, with a subtle floral hit, this rum punch is a perfect chill poolside drink.
- 2 cups strawberries, pureed, strained
- 6 apricots, pitted, skinned, & pureed
- ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
- ½ cup simple syrup made with 2 Tablespoons of lavender blossoms
- 1 bottle of amber rum
- Sparkling water
Add strawberry and apricot purees, lavender simple syrup, lemon juice, and rum to pitcher. Mix together. Add frozen strawberry ice cubes. Top with sparkling water.
Serves 8.
9. BLACKBERRY LEMON VODKA
The simple, perfect flavor pairing of lemon and blackberries, gently flavors fizzed vodka, for a clean crisp thirst quencher.
Ingredients:
- 32 Blackberries
- 40 Lemon slices
- 16 ounces vodka
- Ice cubes
- Sparkling water, optional
Instructions:
For each cocktail, fill a rocks glass with ice and a 3 slightly crushed blackberries and 4 muddled lemon slices. Fill ½ way with vodka. Top with a fresh blackberry and a lemon slice. Top with sparkling water, if desired.
Serves 8.
10. BERRY BASIL FROSÉ
Frosé has become the IT cocktail this summer. Basically, it’s a rosé wine slushie. We had to gild the lily, though, so we added strawberries and basil.
Ingredients:
- 750ml rosé
- 500g of strawberries, halved, frozen
- 25g of superfine sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 16 Basil leaves
Instructions:

Pour the rosé into a ziplock bag and place in the freezer. Freeze for at least 6 hours.

Place frozen wine and frozen berries in a food processor, and sugar, and blend to a slush.

Put 1 basil leaf in each glass, muddle it a bit to bruise. Fill each glass with Frosé slush. Top with a strawberry and fresh basil leaf.
Serves 8.
