It’s not hard to take a beautiful photo of autumn leaves… they do all the hard work for you. But, if you want to take the MOST beautiful autumn photos, we’ve gathered some tips and ideas from some of the best landscape photographers and photography sites to share with you.

He points out that during autumn, the Golden Hour is often an extra important factor, when the landscape lights up with the sun at a low position. It gives a soft glow to the vibrant colors, intensifying them.

Hoiberg also tells us that fog and overcast days can be beautiful in highlighting autumn’s colors too.

Row suggests paying attention to your histogram when shooting, so as not to oversaturate the reds making them look appear blown.

Row tells us how to nail the exposure of every shot, every time, no matter the lighting and weather conditions.

And he offers great tips on how to scout the best locations for shooting leaves, as well as how to compose tighter more detailed shots.
