AMAZING BIRDS BECOME ART IN TAIWAN NOW

Birds are beautiful, no matter what kind. But some photographer capture their beauty in ways that lift them to a higher level of art.

John&Fish, a brother and sister team of ornithology photographers, from Taiwan, are artists through and through. Their real names are Sung Yi-chang (宋宜璋) and Hsiao Tsun-hsien (蕭尊賢).

For 20 years, the sibs both worked for the software programming company that John founded. On weekends, they would both head for the hills to stoke their shared passion: birds!

Now, retired, they go on their epic birdwatching photo-safaris even more often. Fish drives and listens for chirps and twitters, while John takes the photos.

John aims to immerse in the experience, almost becoming one of the birds he seeks. Flash scouts while John sets up the shots and lays low.

Taiwan offers plenty of opportunity. Over 450 bird species live on the 36,000 square kilometers island -- it has the 2nd highest density of bird species in the world.

John’s extensive training in music and the arts influences his painterly style. Fish writes beautiful captions for each image.
