It’s time to wear red! Trees know it -- and we do too! As autumn colors warm our world, we’re seeing ravishing reds pop on the runway this year and we’ve looked back at a few red favorites from years past that still rock today. Look for older designs on The Real Real, 1stdibs, and eBay.

Daphne Guinness in Alexander McQueen: “The Girl Who Lived in the Tree Collection.”

The Girl Who Lived in the Tree, was a beautiful collection, based on a fairytale, conceived by Alexander McQueen. While the entire collection dripped with lush romantic fantasy, his coat, made of red silk satin, was, in our opinion, the star of the show.

Although you can’t purchase this beauty any longer, you can see it on display at the Metropolitan Museum, in New York.

Perfectly tailored, with red pow power, this Christian Dior Couture full length wool coat got our attention. With billowy sleeves and a drapey cut, there’s plenty of beautiful red to go around. Recently departed house designer Raf Simons got his inspiration from the Flemish masters.

Designer Stéphane Rolland did red right with this brilliant pleated organza multi-length skirt. Both colors and textures contrast to make the red truly sing.

This gorgeous ring features a 9-carat black opal, with black rhodium-plated white gold pistils, set with rubies and purple sapphires. The petals, made of blackened zirconium, are set with pink spinels. And the body of the ring is made of interlaced rose and white gold, set with black diamonds.

Second Skin, designed by Raf Simons, for Dior, might just be the coolest red boots ever! These red beauties have both a futuristic and retro feel. The killer heel is chunky in structure, but completely hollow, anchored by a pavé of shiny little balls.
