9. THE BEAUTIFUL UNSEEN: A MEMOIR

The Beautiful Unseen: A Memoir tracks author Kyle Boelte’s struggle to remember his brother, who passed away when he was young. With a striking dual narrative, Boelte also studies the climate of San Francisco on his quest to scientifically explain the constant fog. These two narratives, one, which explores the science behind the impermanence of memory and the other, which shares the author’s own memories and gathered artifacts, intertwine to create a truly engaging and moving story.

"What is this alchemy, by which natural beauty – fog, wind, damp redwoods – can transform grief into wonder and a semblance of peace? This is the question that Kyle Boelte probes with strong, honest sentences and a young man’s clear eyes.”

-- Kathleen Dean Moore, author of Wild Comfort
